Migraine Headache Specialists Waco TX
Waco, TX, is one of the cities where the Texas Migraine Clinic Online Treatment System is available. Currently, the treatment system we use is the most developed of its type. It is one of the most effective forms of treatment for headaches and migraines. And this is available to patients in Waco without even leaving their homes for treatment.
Why is what we do different than what other practices and Neurologists would do?
The treatment system in use is the first of its kind. Every migraine and headache treatment is either Pain Management or Preventative. This means that you will only find treatments for Managing the pain or reducing the frequency and intensity of the symptoms. Our treatment system is different, however. While all other practices are focused on "numbing" the pain, our treatment focuses on fixing the problem that causes the pain.
Modern Research for Chronic Migraines and Headaches
Many will point out that the true source of headaches and migraines has not been found yet. However, this is not necessarily true. Research nowadays is not on finding the root cause of headaches and migraines. It is generally to develop better medications or preventative measures to fight the symptoms. It is entirely true that a medication that gets rid of headaches and migraines does not exist. But that is not all there is to it.
In 2003, Dr. Jeffery Turner, a spine & Migraine/Headache specialist, came across what he believed to be the source of the majority of headaches and migraines. He found that there was identifiable tissue damage that inflamed and caused headaches and migraines. After finding this, Dr. Turner began his work developing a treatment system for it.
A Few of His findings include:
Dr. Turner found that migraines and headaches have symptoms that generally start in one area and then gradually move into other areas. For example. Most all headaches and migraines have an overlooked symptom of constant tightness in the upper shoulders and shoulder blades. When a migraine hits, the symptoms will worsen, and pain will move up to the base of the skull, then forward to the rest of the face. Many incorrectly believe that the tightness they feel in their upper back, shoulders, and neck is stress when it is a result of an injury.
Contrary to common belief, Migraines and Headaches are rarely ever a neurological disease. But instead, they are caused by a physiological problem that can be fixed if very carefully approached. After nearly two decades, Dr. Turner perfected his practice through thousands of clinical trials and patient treatments. Texas Migraine Clinic was also founded by Dr. Turner to make his treatment system readily available.
Online Treatment for Migraine And Headaches
The focus of treatment through Texas Migraine Clinic is to assist the patient's body in the healing process. The focus is to heal the underlying tissue damage. Fixing the problem at the root is the only way to win the war against headaches and migraines. Because it is a fix-focused treatment, it is entirely non-invasive. Non-invasive therapies and treatments do not include medications, surgery, or anything that can have harmful side effects. Because your system is non-invasive, it is entirely natural and has no adverse side effects.
How It Works
At Texas Migraine clinic, patients are connected with the practitioner over an online video call. He then walks each patient through a customized set of instructions to help them get over their problem. The treatment also does not require ongoing treatment. This means that there is an endpoint to treatment. After treatment is over, you no longer need to find treatment through Texas Migraine Clinic. We are dedicated to fixing headaches and migraines, not covering them up by managing the symptoms the problem brings.
Let us say that you have a dislocated shoulder (as an analogy). If you go to the doctor, and they give you pain medication, did the pain medication fix the problem? Although it may have decreased the pain, it did not fix anything. Your arm is still dislocated. Once the doctor puts your arm back in its socket, it still hurts for a bit until it is fully healed. After having your shoulder healed, you no longer need painkillers for your arm or any other form of treatment because the issue was resolved.
The Similarities
The issue that causes headaches and migraines is NOT a dislocated shoulder, of course, as you may have guessed. However, there are a lot of parallels. It is the truth that to get over your headaches and migraines, you have to treat the source of the issue. Just taking pain killers and preventatives does nothing at all for fixing your headaches and migraines. They are useful to numb the pain, but they can hardly be called a treatment option.
A Physical Therapist, during the healing process of your shoulder, may tell you things to so to help it heal correctly. And most of the stuff they do tell you does not require them to manually work on your arm. It is a similar thing for your headache and migraine treatment. You can be walked through the healing process without manual work with the practitioner. This is what our entirely online-based treatment system is established on.
The Online Treatment System
The treatment system in use is completely online. Many practitioners have started using online treatments beginning with the Covid-19 Pandemic. However, Texas Migraine Clinic has already been implementing the online treatment system for several years. It is simple to set up for each patient, and there is almost no hassle when getting sessions up and running.
The Second Focus of Texas Migraine Clinic
One of the most overlooked complications of headaches and migraines are the psychological effects they bring. Some factors contribute to this. There is the constant isolation (if the problem is chronic), and many other roadblocks in functionality that hold people back from, well, most everything. Texas Migraine Clinic has the privilege of getting people's lives back on track through the treatment we provide. However, it is not through life coaching, but through the removal of the headaches and migraines that cause the negative psychological symptoms.
Over the years, this is one of the main reasons that Dr. Turner has persevered in his work. Knowing that our work has a lasting positive impact on others' lives gives wings to what we do. Depression, anxiety, and a sense of purposelessness are some examples of common psychological effects of headaches and migraines.
Migraines and headaches, especially if they are chronic, tank productivity. This causes the person who has them to have exceptionally low productivity. In itself, low productivity makes holding up responsibilities impossible. For example, a parent may have a tough time even playing with their child because the pain is that bad, or they are incredibly fatigued. Even those with jobs may find it challenging to fulfill their role.
The Causes of the Psychological Drawbacks
What is surprising is that, in most cases, the symptoms of migraines and headaches are not the culprits behind dramatically reduced productivity, depression, and anxiety. The leading causes of these are usually the treatments people use to fight off the symptoms. For example, depression, anxiety, and grogginess can be common side effects to pain management medications.
Not only this, but isolation itself is mainly caused by trigger avoidance. Trigger avoidance is another form of migraine prevention and pain management. Many migraine and headache sufferers find themselves cooped up in a quiet, dark room. They do this because most everything can trigger an attack, or inflame the already present one. Lights can set one off; loud sounds can trigger them, foods, body position, weather, and that's right, practically everything. There will be a longer list at the bottom of the page if you are interested.
Trigger avoidance and the unpredictability of attacks are two of the most significant setbacks because it removes the freedom to make plans and do things. Vacations, events, and workdays are not easily planned in advanced with headaches and migraines. And this is because there is no way of knowing if there will be an attack, or if what you will be doing might trigger an attack.

Does it work for everyone?
No, although it does work for the majority of people with migraines. There are many different factors to consider, and everyone's issue may differ slightly. The chances of migraines and headaches coming from a different root is a possibility, though quite rare. The average patient we treat, last we checked, has had headaches and migraines for more than 20 years; and had seen five different types of specialists or doctors for their problem without finding lasting relief. The success rate of completely removing the headaches and migraines is above 60%, and the success rate of drastically reduced pain and frequency is above 90%.
This natural migraine and headache treatment is entirely non-invasive. It is only to assist your body in fixing itself where the issue lies. Your body cannot heal on its own unless the root issue is resolved. No matter which treatment system you pursue, we are hoping the best for you.
